Hashem Morvarid is a Miller Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Philosophy at Johns Hopkins University. Trained in both classical Islamic philosophy (particularly Avicenna) and contemporary Anglophone philosophy (particularly analytic metaphysics), he is interested in putting these two traditions into a constructive dialogue. He has been involved in several cross-cultural Templeton-funded projects and has published papers in a number of journals, including Philosophical Studies, Synthese, the British Journal for the History of Philosophy, and Religious Studies.
