On October 28-30 (Wednesday-Friday), the department will be hosting Prof. David Chalmers (New York University and Australian National University) as the 2015 Thalheimer Lecturer. The department sponsors the Thalheimer Lectures every few years, inviting philosophers who, besides being highly distinguished, are likely to be of interest to faculty and students in a variety of fields besides philosophy itself. The general title of Prof. Chalmers’ Thalheimer Lectures is “Spatial Experience and Virtual Reality.” The times, places, and titles of the three lectures are as follows:

Wednesday, Oct. 28, 5:30 p.m., Remsen 1: “Spatial Illusions: From Mirrors to Virtual Reality”
Thursday, Oct. 29, 4:15 p.m., Remsen 101: “Finding Space in a Nonspatial World”
Friday, Oct. 30, 4:15 p.m., Gilman 50: “Structuralism and the Limits of Skepticism”
